Learn To Design Your Own Community Preparedness Project

Sat Nov 14, 2026 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Make Fun Studio / Tree Farm Building, 850 SE 3rd St #202

Are you curious about how to help your community become more prepared and resilient in the face of growing climate instability? This workshop is for you!

In this workshop, you’ll learn:

  • What real communities are building to support their collective survival and resilience

  • How to come up with project ideas that are realistic, impactful, and sustainable

  • How to use design and community organizing tools to help set your project up for success

This is more than a presentation. You’ll have opportunities to ask questions, connect with other participants, and take home tangible tools to help you get started, including both a printed and a digital version of MakeWith’s Project Design Worksheet to continue developing your project after the workshop.

We strongly encourage you to sign up with friends, neighbors, or other members of your community who you may want to learn or build with!

Whether you’ve got a project idea already or are just curious what preparedness beyond your household could look like, this workshop is sure to leave you inspired and equipped with new tools.

Sliding Scale Policy

We are a small, queer-owned business and we rely on ticket sales to cover the cost of workshop development, instructor time, admin, and overhead. We provide tickets on a sliding scale to increase access for those who need it and to allow others to support that access. Approximately 25% of tickets for each workshop are available at reduced cost. We trust participants to assess their own financial needs and pay at the highest level they can afford.
